Orange Aboriginal Medical Service (OAMS) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Casual Yiriyirimbang Support Worker to support children, young people and families involved with the Yiriyirimbang Program.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting children and families, facilitating family time, mentoring young people, and helping strengthen connections to culture, community and family.

About the Role

As a Yiriyirimbang Support Worker, you will:

  • Safely transport children and families to appointments, family time visits, school, extracurricular activities and other required locations.
  • Supervise and facilitate Family Time visits.
  • Role model positive parenting skills and techniques.
  • Complete accurate observation and Family Time reports.
  • Support children and young people to achieve their individual goals.
  • Work closely with Case Managers and the broader Yiriyirimbang team.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
  • Report any child protection concerns in line with mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Assist with general case management and administrative tasks as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • An understanding of NSW Child Protection legislation, Mandatory Reporting requirements and Out of Home Care services.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal children, young people, families and communities.
  • A current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
  • The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and school holidays.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.

Essential Requirements

  • Current NSW Driver Licence.
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check.

Requirements

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Undertake and pass a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
  • Complete a pre-employment wellness check (including drug and alcohol screening)
  • Hold or obtain a NSW Working with Children Check

Remuneration

SCHADS Award Level 2 (dependent on qualifications and experience) + superannuation
